Sascha Huth is a German artist living in Chicago. The practice is based on interventional gestures, translated into objects, images, and spaces. With a background in Industrial and Process Design from the University of the Arts in Berlin (DE), he is engaged with the evolution of commodities, as well as the accelerating economic dynamics and their impact on society. His work creates spaces for concentration, where aesthetic pleasure, humor, and curiosity intersect. Materials are sourced from sidewalks, alleys, thrift shops, junkyards, institutions, and corporations, where byproducts, surplus, and waste become origins for inspiration, manipulation, and transformation. He perceives, researches, disrupts, and reclaims from the relentless cycle of production that characterizes contemporary society. Interventions occupy sites and confront the ever-expanding world of commodities. The practice relies on repetition, rehearsal, and dedication as it oscillates between industrialism and vandalism.
