Huth crafts his work by reclaiming recognisable items from the relentless cycle of consumption and production that characterises contemporary society. Through the manipulation of found commodities, he conceptually explores the effects of acceleration—especially the influence of commercial consumption—on our psyche. He repurposes materials such as textiles, metals, machinery and elements from nature, stripping them of their original functions and reconfiguring them into new arrangements. By reducing the installations to their essentials, he allows the concept of emptiness to play a pivotal role, introducing an unsettling tension that accompanies this void, between the mobile and the immobile. Huth's works exist as assembled components, which the artist refers to as “material interventions.” The ideology of the practice is based on repetition, rehearsal, dedication and oscillates between industrialism and its associated vandalism.
